How to Join Us for Class at The Yoga Way

How to Begin FAQs Yoga: 108 Reasons

Here's How You Begin

1. Call or e-mail us (845-227-3223) to schedule your introductory workshop.

This orientation will:

  • Give you an overview of our approach to yoga
  • Show you what we do, how we do it, and discuss why we do it
  • Provide an opportunity for us to learn about you and do a full evaluation of your needs

2. Come prepared to participate in the experiential portion of the workshop by exploring:

  • yoga postures
  • breathing exercises
  • relaxation techniques

3. In preparation for the workshop:

  • eat lightly or not at all prior to class
  • dress in comfortable clothing
  • a mat will be provided for you during the workshop
  • a blanket will be provided for you
  • avoid wearing heavy colognes, perfumes
  • remove jewelry which may get in the way
  • we practice in bare feet

4. If you enjoy the class and are interested in continuing on we will:

  • explain what's next
  • assist you in choosing a program that's right for you
  • answer any additional questions that you may have

Of all the guidelines that are applied to the practice of yoga, none are as important as your inner attitude, trust in the wisdom of your body, and knowing your own physical limitations and boundaries. Non-violence and self-respect are at the foundation of a healthy practice!
